 Subject: How to set timing on 89 3.9

I need to know if there are any special things I must do, as disconnect battery,as such to set timing on 1989 3.9 litre in a Dodge Dakota. The reason being is I replaced cam position sensor and was in hurry and did not mark anything, well when I replaced distributor it hit me as I should have left a mark somewhere. The truck starts fine but it turns over real slow, it has a new starter that done fine before I replaced CMS. Also need to know the timing point. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Well in a 1964 Bel-Air, the correct ignition timing would be four degrees before tap dead center.
