okay guys i need help. i took my 87 dakota and pulled the 3.9 only and took a 93 318 beefed it a litle and droped it in the distributor i got from jegs is only two wire and the 87 harness plug is three wire my problem is i cant find a way to hook up the distributor therefor im not getting spark please help ive got 3000. invested and now cant get it started

what you have there is a dist set up with 2
pickups how this system worked was 1 was for
start and 1 was for run
one side is power and the other signal you just
need to trace the wires 1 will go to both pickups
and than there will be 2 1 from each pickup this is
the signal wires power and 1 of the other wires
with ohm meter you will see 1 wire has power and
1 does not power to the wire that feeds both and
use 1 of the others for the signal try both and
see which runs the best
they started that crap around 1976 with the dual
pickup dist's
