Subject: A/C TROUBLE IP: Logged
Message: I have a 1996 Dodge Dakota V6 3.9L. I bought it for a bargain about a month ago with no A/C. The previous owner said it was the control head. So I went to the junk yard and got a spare. I installed it and nothing. Then i found this site and noticed a lot of folks with a similar problem were changing their resistor's. Bought a new one today and tada! Air. However, it does not blow cold nor does it work on high. Also, i noticed the ac clutch stutters. It will spin for 5 seconds the stop for 7 seconds. Any ideas? Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Message: Sounds like it's low on refridgerant. If it is a R134A system you can pick up a can at the local parts house and top off the system. One can may do it but , the best way would be to put a set of gages on it and have it charged properly.
