I am new to the board. I am looking at a 1 owner 2005 Dodge Dakota. 3.7L V-6 4-door. Carfax report is really good. Husband is deployed and wants me to get a good dependable truck for me and our son. Any comments on how everyone feels about their trucks would be very much appreciated.

Personally one line in your statement would have turned me away.

Be careful relying on only a "carfax" report... all they can report on are items that were logged by an insurance company, dealership, dot,etc. For example..... I crash my truck into a lake and flooded the cab .. I have a deductible of $1000 through my insurance company a local guy can "fix" it for $800 so I have him do it. Carfax has NO WAY of knowing the truck was in a lake. Ask to take the truck to a local repair shop to have it looked at.. if the seller has a problem with doing that its a sign that there is something to hide...
