Subject: I'm getting these error codes IP: Logged
Message: 95 Dak, rebuilt engine. I am 99% certain I was having these same error codes BEFORE the rebuild.
12 * ( i know )
53 * (PCM internal fault condition detected)
****** sometimes the check engine light comes on, other times it stays off, other times it just blinks faintly)
32 * Open or shorted condition detected in the EGR solenoid circuit
OR
Mechanical problem found in EGR system.
42 * Fuel pump related.....hmmmmm....could this be my problem of the truck cutting off when I put the clutch in in the summer time?
33 * open or short detected in the A/C clutch something or other.....
That's it. End of Codes 55.
The 33 baffles me cause I just had a new clutch put in while it was all torn apart. But ALL of these error codes , I was getting before the rebuild too...
Any ideas? Where would you start? Thank you.

Message: 53
This can be caused by either a bad ground or the
splice about 6" back from the power dist box under
hood, undo wire harnas there is a red wire going
to 3 other wires remove the splice conector and
solder them all togather without the connector
check all grounds
(An internal PCM failure or PCM communications failure has been detected.)
Also disconect batt and remove and clean comp
plug when its unpluged reconect batt and check
pin 3 and 9 look close there are #'s right on the
plug and a 5/16 bolt in the middle after you
check these 2 pins disconect batt befor pluging
in and while checking and cleaning all connections
and grounds have batt disconnected
And do not shove something to big into the pins
you can make them oversized and get a bad
connection check on plug not comp
32
replace the EGR they are calibrated units both
need to be replaced position sensor and valve
around $125 this is the only way to solve this
42
(Open or short in the ASD relay wiring or connectors.)
this has nothing to do with the fuel pump except
turning power on/off also for injectors, ign and
o2 among other things that have batt volts turned
on/off including computer
pin #3 and 9 computer plug check 1 power all the
time 1 on /off with key
first replace the 30 amp relay in dist box under hood and clean all connections from there to
computer also computer plug
radio schack contact cleaner will remove dirt and
corrosion than either let dry or blow dry with air
either bad connections, bad relay, broken wire or
just a bad ground remove and clean all grounds
there is one behing the alternator on a stud this
is the comp engine ground also strap from back of
motor to fire wall they like to rot off
33
The A/C circiut this with all the others is
telling me you have a bad ground when you have 2
relays in the power distrabution box acting up
again clean all connections and grounds between
this box and computer and check that splice
especialy the 2 grounds I mentioned
You have your work cut out for you here first
check the splice and grounds than replace the egr
and you should be good to go
I can send my old lady over with a wip to get ya
working on the task at hand LOL
They say rome was not built in a day well my
wife was not there ether LOL LOL or it would have
been LOL just kidding
Just take your time and do 1 thing at a time but
the connections and grounds first than the splice
this all needs to be done at the same time and
than move on
Now you know what I go thru when I get probs like
this if it ends up being a broke wire in the
harnes than its even more fun, get a haynes
manual for around $20 they have the wire diagrams
and you can check the wires from sorce to comp
if all the other stuff dose not solve the probs
I wish you the best of luck just take your time
and you will find the problem and in the process
you wil learn a lot about your truck

Message: The bad PCM connection can also cause the code 32, so fix the splice and clear the codes before buying a new EGR valve.

Message: Ok, the power dist box is the one with the fuses and relays. Correct? If this is the case, I am having a heck of a time finding this red wire splice about 6 inches down. All the wires are wrapped up in this "mummy cloth" lol.....
At any rate, I do see where * 2 * wires split off and go to a rather largish plug/connector of sorts. But this plug/connector only has 2 wires, not 3. Is this the one I'm supposed to cut off and solder together?

Message: I removed the screws that hold the relay box on the fender (under
the hood drivers side)
I moved it so I could see the wiring under the relay box...I tore off
the tape from the wires 6-8 inches from the relay box and found
my red wires under the relay box...ASD relay...followed them to a
splice...cut the splices and re soldered them....in fact I found a few
more splices and the heck with it...I re-soldered all of them!!
its been 4 months since i did this......and no probs!!
Good Luck!!

Message: Long story short orginal problem truck would not start unless you banged on gas tank. This problem heppened not to often unless you ran tank below 1/4. I believed that I had trash in tank so I dropped tank found old fuel pump off of one of the plastic slides. I replaced pump because i could not service old one then the fun began! Truck will not run correct now. Missing, idles rough and then cuts off. I'm getting a code 14 which is map sensor but I'm having a hard time believing that this is bad. Truck was running smooth before I replaced pump. I have replaced plugs, wires, distrubter cap and rotor button. I also pressure tested new pump with truck not running 44psi. with truck running pressusre bounces erraticly 35 to 45psi. Can someone offer any info to problem?
