Message: my dakota has a 12v cigarette lighter in it. next to it is a blank hole for another one but it has a cover on it. when you pull the cover their are wires that run to the back of the cover but they have NO power supply. what do i have to do to get power to them so i can hardwire my radar detector into them without running all new wires??

Message: One should be ground and the other 12vdc. Those are for the Aux. 12vdc plug. What year is your truck? My '00 Sport QC has that 12vdc Aux. connected.

Message: Do you want it HOT all the time? That's how mine is from the factory.
Or do you want it switched with the ignition?

Message: If i was wiring one in it would be hot all the time. Just grab 12vdc+ at the PDC underhood, use an inline fuse to go inside the cab and ground the other side and you're done.
