Subject: Help! Won't Start in Park! IP: Logged
Message: Alright...I've been having tranny problems for a while so I decided to finally do something about it. Yesterday I tore into the tranny and dropped the valve body and swapped out the 3 solenoids/sensors in the tranny. Got it all put back together and now my truck won't start in Park...only Neutral unless I slam it into Park really hard. Obviously either my linkage is just a hair off or my neutral safety switch needs adjusted. Aside from that, it goes into all the gears fine and my problems seem to be fixed.
Could someone explain to me how to either adjust the switch or the linkage? Preferably how to do so without dropping the pan again...
I've got a big trip coming up in a couple weeks and gotta have my truck good to go by then...which is why I did those sensors myself...scariest thing I've ever worked on, but I'm broke and it needed done. 2-3 shifts were causing gear hunting and driving in the rain normally resulted in loss of overdrive...amongst other issues.
Thanks!
