have a 2001 with 3.9 it have lifters rattling and was miss firing and then it died two days after that started so i installed new lifters they was a couple collasped and it still wont start any suggestions

ok lets start with more info on what you did to the engine. Did you set it to the tdc of the compression stroke for cylyder 1 before disasembly. Did you keep all valvetrain parts in order for reasembly? Did you use a new timing assembly? Have you checked the fuel delivery system. Have you torqued evrything back to spec? More information is needed is everything factory or has there been mods done to this engine or the controller?

every thing is stock no i did not set it to top dead center ...i kept the rocker arms all in order this for my buddy so he could not afford a new timing set it had a lot of sludge in it causeing the lifters to fail dont have my scanner til monday and it has plenty of fuel pressure ...seems like the more i try to start it the more it wants to crank

You don't need a scanner to read codes. Turn thr key on/off/on/off/on and the codes will display in the odometer as PXXXX. When it's finished or no codes it will dispaly Pdone.
By "on" I mean "on" not "start". Just wnated to clarify that.
