Hello fellow dak fans. I'm looking to convert my daily driver 1997 3.9 auto 4x4 into a project truck.. I'm looking for a 5.9 and a manual trany.. Also I'm doing away with EFI, I want it carbuated.. Where can I find a 5.9 carbuarted? will my stock rear end hold up? what to do with the 4x4 transfer case? My dak deserves it, It was my first vehical, got me through high school and commuting to college.. over due with 200k miles Someone please educate me!!

If you go that route you will need to do a little
rewireing but the older 360 will all bolt right up
This will retain the 4 wheel operation just as it
was
I would stay with the fuel injection all you need
to do is use the 360 computer and just add 2
injector wires for #7 and #8 from comp to injectors
the other side is ASD or batt volts just tap the
2 wires on the injector next to 7&8 all else bolts
up and plugs right in
