I'm changing the oil pump on 3.9 dakota.

Can someone tell me where to place the block of wood on the oil to raise engine?

Any other tips to make this job easier would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I would think that you need a hoist from the top .
How are you going to remove the oil pan if you have a block under it ?

I'm not sure but if it's a 2wd you may be able to pull the pan without having to raise the emgine, I haven't looked in a service manual to check the exact procedure.
