Subject: 01-3.9 V6 400 cranks to start after Rain IP: Logged
Message: Last night we had our first official Spring torrential thunder storm in Northern Ont. Anyhow, as I went to head out today I was left stranded. I took a propane torch on low ( I know I was desperate for mobility) to the Distributor after about 200 cranks - nogo...Needless to say I finally have my truck started after leaving the hood opened for 4 hours today.
I'm thinking cracked distributor, lines etc but have pre-read some other posts. Some posts suggest TPS (bought one of these about 5 months ago) and also the Idle Air Control sensor.
Where should I start to look? Thanks.
Truck is 2001 Dodge Dakota Club 3.9 V6 @ 180,000km's

Message: If this is only happening when it rains or is damp out. Start with a good tune up, Cap, Rotor, Wires & plugs.
I would suggest spending the little extra and getting quality parts.
