I have to replace the motor in my '03 dakota. Now the yard is telling me that the '01 and '02 engines are different or have a different refrence number than the '03 3.9 V6's. Is there a diference between the years? The dealer says the block #'s are the same but the whole engine #'s are diferent... If anyone has an answer Please reply... Thanks

any 3.9 from 92 up will work the only
diff is 96 and up do not use an EGR
92 to 95 to 96 and up just use the newer intake
manifold or block the egr with a plate
96 to 03 all the same these guys are lost

Here in about 2-3 weeks I will have a 2003 3.9l V6 for sale with 67000 miles on it. Just got a 4.7 that I am putting in, this will be a complete longblock as well, including ac compressor power steering and alternator. Let me know if you need it still.
