 Subject: Emissions Light

I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota. About a month ago, my emissions light came on. After about a week, it turned back off. It is now on again. I tried turning changing the gas cap but that did not help. Any hints as to what could possibly be wrong or what I can do?

I have a 2005 dakota with six cylinder engine. No bells or
whistles. Emission light came on and stayed on. Any
