Okay, I give up. What are the differences between the Dakota Sport, SLT and just a regular Dakota.
The reason I ask is because I met another Dak owner today that had a Dak SLT and his truck was equipped with the same stuff mine had...down to the 16*8 rims. His SLT was not a 4 by 4 though.
Besides price, what are the differences?
Just wondering....

Going off memory...
Biggest differences!
Sport has body matched trim
SLT has Chrome Trim (grill, ect)
Regular has flat black Trim
There are also some minor differences in packages and base stuff that comes on them. But the most striking difference is the trim.

just the trim.
look at bernd's truck. that's an slt. they add chrome instead of body colored accents.
the durango is a different story.

Are y'all sure about that? I'm not doubting you, but I have an SLT (not to be confused with the SLT +), and the only thing that is 'chrome colored' is the grill. The lower bumper and the lower part of my truck is 2-tone gray paint. (Or "metallic silver".)
Current mods: A MUFFLER. That's it. (For now.)
Future mods: Tonneau cover
Underdrive pulleys
Removal of clutch fan
K&N FIPK
17" rims
And much, much more...

My 95 CC sport has front and rear chrome bumpers, and chrome wheels from the factory.
no power package and no cheap wood on the inside.

If that is your definition of better, I guess so. I originally wanted to go with the Sport package, but ended up with the SLT instead. In the long run, I am happy I did go with the SLT, because I love the chrome accents. But I guess it all comes down to what YOU want. :>)

SXT I think has a graphite grill and graphite fender flares. I think there are a few other diffences, but I am not too sure. Basically, it is just another trim package.

Well they ARE option packages too, 98FlameRdDak. Some items optional on base are standard and Sport & SLT, and some items optional on Sport are standard on SLT, maybe vice-versa, and the SXT too. They're also OPTIONS packages. The trim, however, is how which package was picked. So another grand for the SXT includes trim and optional equipment included in the package.
BTW - nice year and color. ;-)

I just bought an 02 CC 3.9 auto SXT and it isn't just a diff. trim. It's kinda like in between the sport and the SLT, but it looks much better i think. It comes standars with tilt steering, rear stabilizer bar, wheel flares, 16 in wheels(so it sits a little higher of the ground, and it also has an upgraded stereo system. Oh, and lets not 4get the bucket seats w/ center console.
I think it's great....v8 would have been nice though!
