Subject: Milage Dropped IP: Logged
Message: My fuel milage dropped 3-4 mpg's for no visable reason. The check engine light isn't on. The truck seems to run as good as it ever did. And I'm not driving like a race car driver either.
My first thought is O2 sensors, but wouldn't that trip the check engine light? The milage drop was rather sudden also, I noticed it over a two week time. It's a '00 and I don't even know how many o2 sensors it has. I'm have to guess that there is at least three o2's; left bank, right bank, and post cat. it that correct?
Anyone have any suggestions as to where I should be looking to resolve this problem?

Message: my '00 only has 2 O2 sensors. 1 precat and 1 after. the o2's could be getting lazy and not trip a code. how many miles on the truck?
are you using any oil? a vacuum leak can cause mileage to drop.

Message: Daddio,
That's is what I was thinking, the lazy O2, I'm not using any oil, Not aware of any vacuum leak. The truck has 109K miles, so it probably time for things like O2's to go bad. I guess that I'll replace them both a hope that's the problem.
