reliable and not tooo wild but still get a good
amount of performance out of it. How many
horsies will a ported manifold produce?
Thanks,

Message: The price is 200 for everything. That includes
cutting of the plenum divider, cleaning up the
runners removing all sharp edges, cutting of
the runners if desired, radiusing the injector
bosses for a better spray pattern, port
matching the intake to the v8 tb if
needed, installation and sealing of the plenum
pan and cleanup of the manifold and polish
with aluminum cleaner/polish. This includes
the core return of your manifold. Email me at
gmconner@juno.com for more specifications,
can match it for what kinda power you are
looking for, reliability with a ported manifold is
not an issue. this port job is comparabvle to
that of hughes engines who charges 350
using your core and not including shipping. I
dont have any dyno numbers at this time but
for just an economy clean up the butt dyno
feels good on the 97 v6 auto we just installed
one on
thanks

Message: the 200 is me porting a manifold, sending it to you, then once you instal it sending the stock manifold back to me. If you want to keep your stock manifold it is a little bit more. Hughes charges 350 and thats with you having to pull the manifold off your truck and sending it to them to port. My way minimizes downtime of the truck
Thanks

Message: Bernd
The only advantage I see with filling the plenum area is creating a stronger vaccume signal. It seems to me that cutting the runners enough to where you would need to fill the plenum area would be too much. Taking even half an inch off the runners seems to hurt low end performance. I have seen several daks that have completly cut down the runners with no problem other than a severe loss in low end. I know Hughes does fill the plenum area, but I dont think many of the other major shops do. I have a few intake around, I'll have to cut the runners down on one and experiment with it on my truck with the plenum area unfilled, then filled

Message: dodgeboy: I've got a manifold here that had the runner cut (no fill) and the TQ loss was very noticeable. On the dyno...it was noticeable as well. I'll dig up the dyno sheets for you.

Message: Bernd, did cutting the runners without filling add any upper rpm hp on the dyno?
I cut mine down and didnt notice any real difference except it pulled alot harder after 3500.
I will admit, I have read that its recomended to fill the plenum though.

Message: Thanks Bernd, Like i said I noticed a tq loss when even cutting the runner down a half inch, but she screamed above 3grand. Our heavy trucks need tq more than anything to get them going so I really dont suggest runner cutting to anyone unless for some reasone they are looking for a really high power band. I would really be interested in the dyno sheet though
thanks

Message: Greg, what about the belly pan problems that occur with Hughes type intakes? I'm really interested in a ported intake, but don't want to run into that.

Message: Lesley
The belly pan problems can occure on any type of stock magnum intake. Really if its ported or not it shouldnt make a difference. The stock plenum gaskets are just junk, I use a spray style gasket maker called the right stuff, it works great. I'm not sure of what hughes uses, and havent really heard of any specific plenum pan problems with their intakes, but then again I havent gone looking for them. I havent heard many good things about Hughes work with the magnum motors.

Message: I had cut the plenum divider down by no more than 1.5", smoothed out the runners, radiused all edges (including the injector bosses), and put a 45 degree radius around the TB bores. (48mm will fit without any clearance problems and 50mm is year dependent.) The plenum divider is also non-existent on different year/models. Be careful which year gets it and which doesn't.
Here's some photos of what I did a few years ago. TQ loss was non-existent and she pulls much harder from 2500rpm+. (Those are FMS 19# injectors on there as well.)

Manifold was also bead blasted for looks and helped clean up on the runner work. (Flapper wheel was run through the ports with a flex extension.

Message: wa sup ya'll, i might be wrong but i think the gen 2's have the plenum divider, i'm not sure if 96 has them or not, but i don't think they do, i think it has something to do with the computer, OBD I vs OBD II, my 95 has one, all newer magnum motors 96-newer don't have it. the obd 1's also have an egr valve, obd 2 don't

Message: It depends on the parts bin at the build plant. Some have them, some don't, some came with long, mid-sized, small, or no plenum dividers. It appears that on the 2000+ models, it's no longer there. But I have seen the divider on a 2001 model. Dodge....different.

Message: My manifold had a divider that went all the way down to the plenum plate and only left a 3/4" gap for air. I cut it up about 2" and shortened all the runners a lot... also radiused the bosses. After all that i didnt really notice a loss in torque but it really picked up in the upper rpms.
that was an old post... check with dodgeboy first to see if he still has any
