What year is the truck? No matter what year you have, see if you can remove the screws, door latch, lock bezels, etc that you do have access to and roll down the window. Then try to lift the top edge of the door panel up and over the lip it fits into in the top of the door. It will not lift up easily but if you can snap it up over the edge and maybe get your hand back in the door cavity you can either operate the latch mechanism by hand or at least get a better look at what is wrong keeping it from opening.

Short of that, maybe a locksmith can work the latch inside the door cavity from outside the door. You might even ask a police officer if he has a slim-jim or door lock kit and maybe he could open it for you for free. The kits all come with directions on how to orient the tools to pop the door lock open and maybe it will operate the door latch too, if it's the latch that's broken.

Good luck.

If you can get the screw out of the sail panel and the ones holding the inside door handle out, you should be able to pull up on the top edge of the panel and sort of roll it out of the groove it fits in at the top. It shouldn't break, it would take a lot more force to break it than what you can put on it by hand. If you can get it to move far enough you may be able to see what's needed to get it open. It might be something as simple as the door latch rod came loose from the back of the release handle and you can operate the rod and open the door.

Hate to inform you but I have this same problem. It has happened twice and only seems to do it when the temperature is very cold out. Usually it is only the drivers side that does it but this year it locked both of them. Stranded me out on a lake while I was ice fishing 2 miles from shore in -20 degree temps with no coat no gloves or hat. I had to run to shore to keep my body temp up. Otherwise I prolly would have froze to death. Thanks DC
