 Subject: 99 Dodge Dakota not going into overdrive

Hey everyone,
I have a 99 3.9l Dodge Dakota and after a little bit of driving normally it will start acting up and won't go into overdrive and shifts really hard. It usually runs normal again after turning it off for a little bit. I've checked the transmission fluid and it looks good.
Any ideas as to what the problem could be are appreciated. Thanks :)

i thought i had a problem with my OD not going in.
but after a bit of time i realized that it was just
the engines way of heating up in the winter. if
thats any help due to weather conditions
