Subject: Stalling after start-up IP: Logged
Message: My 96 dakota 3.9L 2 wheel drive is stalling on start-up after a short trip. It doesn't do it when it is cold or when it is completely warmed up. The only codes are for the tranny temp sensor P0711. The truck also doesn't stall all the time. I have already checked the egr valve and the TPS. The plugs and wires are new. Anyboy have any ideas?

Message: O2 sensor - just in front of the 'cat' .
It is getting 'lazy' = won't throw a code yet
although , if you can get a scanner on there
you will see that it is lagging..

Message: Thanks for the advice. Is there any way to test the O2 sensor? I really don't want to replace the thing for sixty bucks and have the same problems. My sensor has two wires on it, I have a Haynes manual on the truck but the only thing it tells me is the sensor can produce up to one volt if the engine is runing rich and not to test the sensor with a voltmeter without a 10 mega- ohm impendence. The manual doesn't give me a number to check to see if it is good.
