Subject: '87 Dakota 3.9 stalling
IP: Logged

Message:
It runs fine in park or neutral. Hit the gas and
the engine accelerates fine. Put it in drive or
reverse and touch the gas pedal and it pops
through the carb and dies. If you do nurse it
up to 55 mph it still dies if you push on the
gas pedal or go up a hill. Engine temperature
does not seem to matter. I had to use it last
Saturday for a 30 mile round trip. It stalled
multiple times at every stop sign and turn I
made. It starts back up just fine.
I've heard it was a sensor and/or something
electrical in the carb. The choke is mechanical
but has a wire coming out. Any help greatly
appreciated...
