Subject: Engine Problem... HELP IP: Logged
Message: I have a 1998 Dakota 3.9L 2WD with 90k on it. I am hearing this slight knocking sound from the engine, or so it seems. I don't think it is rod knock because it is random and only does it at idle intermittently. And the engine runs great (no hesitating, or stalling, or rough running). However i have never heard rod knock before so i dont really know what it sounds like. Anyone got anything or tips on what to look for... I cannot figure this out.
