Subject: Blower Motor Issue IP: Logged
Message: I have a '94 Dak with 243,000 miles. Most everything works on it except the blower. It runs inconsistently. It seems to run fine when I first start the truck but stops when the engine gets to temp. Once you start driving, it usually comes back on but starts and stops. I have changed the blower resistor with no luck. The official low temp here last Friday was -34F. It was too unsafe to drive the truck to work. Any help would be appreciated.

Message: I was gonna tell you tot change the resistor on the firewall on the passenger side in the engine compartment but it sounds like you have done that. I had the same problem with my 92 but that is what fixed it. Also check the 50 Amp fuse in the fuse box under the hood if you have one. I have had to repleace that a few times. Maybe if you put a 60 amp in it it might work. No guarantees though. Good Luck

Message: Check the 'connector' for that ballast resistor
on the firewall -- probable one or more
of the 'pins' are loose , black , = not making good contact..

Message: I tried to make sure he contacts were clean when I put the resistor in. Now that it has warmed up a bit I will check them a little better.
