Ok i really need to figure this out quick. Please help.
Ok i have a 1997 Dakota Sport 3.9 2WD Auto.
It had "wheel hopped" when taking off for a while, but it was only in the cab, and would slip/grind into gear. then on way home last night it would go out of gear and when you would gas it, it would be in neutral. Slow down to about 25 and it would go to first and shift up again.
then last night it came out of gear wouldnt do nothing i stopped, reset computer and it moved about 10 feet in drive. Got pulled home, went out this morning and it would move like 2 ft in reverse, and just whine in drive.
be4 the problem the dipstick showed just below full. now it should about an inch over full...
What could it be?

try putting in transx. if that dont work sounds like a rebuild or replace.

YOU NEED NEW TRANSMISSION. You can get one from junk
yard. I got one from the junk yard and have been very pleased with it. I put in myself, took me 3 days cause I did not know what I was doing.
