Message: Hey dakota49 yes I do have a little play in the LEFT wheel none in RIGHT and like I posted as I drive sound comes in around 50-55mph and gets louder and fades some around 70 or faster but still there and when turning to right on freeway noise gone!! again don't whether to change one side or both ?? at the best price I found was hub and bearing together $100 and some change .

Message: pete, sorry its taken me so long to get back to you, but it sure sounds like a bearing from what you have described. I would change just the side with the play and wait to see if the other makes any noise.

Message: agree with you dakota49 just waiting for better weather.., weather has delayed my interest in doing anything outside snowstorm after another now single digit temps later this week leave me want to go south then have no interest there either hmmmmmmmmmm........ sooner or later will fix it

Message: Another stupid ?? when these bearings are bad noted with noise complaints Iam smelling a burning smell like wires melting I looked again for any possibilties none to be found, is this another problem Iam having ? this truck has been a great since new and now problems occuring hoping this dont nickle and dime me thats why I want to be sure before replacing any major part(s)

Message: Just wanted let everyone know I finally replaced my wheel bearing turn out to be the left side easier than I thought, took about 20 minutes for me to replace it got part at NAPAS for about $130 and some change.I replaced it because the noise was getting louder by the day and couldn't even enjoy listening to my tunes.Also beared elements 10' and wind chill but had a salmander heater to warm the garage, thanks everyone for your input and advice....

Message: I have a 03 dakota 3.9 sxt. I have got a really bad roaring noise coming from underneath the truck. I have already replaced the transfer cas, hub bearrings. Still i get the same noise. i have to pull a trailer everyday so i really need to get this fixed. Any answers for me?

Message: I am having the same problem. Using SKF brg/hub assemblies, I have replaced both sides twice in the last year. Had a 4 wheel alignment done...tech said nothing unordinary. No brake drag. I would think that SKF would be OE supplier or at least a top line replacement...am I missing something?
