Message: Ok... I've had an intermitant light for this for the last 2 years... I'm very very frustrated with it because it is never stored on the memory, so every time I take it to get scanned... it reads that nothing is wrong... It never fails... it comes on when I turn the truck on... stays on all the way to the dealership... then when they get it... it doesnt come on... when I leave and am away from the dealership... shazam... it comes on... the breaks have all been replaced since it came on... speed sensors are all up to date... no leaks in the brake lines... oh, when I drive it harder from time to time it will come on if not on before... They are on around 40% of the time, course never when a mechanic has a scanner on it ... I'm hoping that someone else has had a something like this... the stats are...

Message: My ABS and Brake lights came on And the speedo when out. The speedo would bounce around until it got to 68mph then it worked fine.
It ended up being the sensor for the rear ABS, mounted on the top of the diff. $42 bucks later speedo worked and the abs/brake lights went out. I un-plunged the sensor first to see if any other lights/codes came up on the way to the auto parts store. Hope that helps.........

Message: If you have 4 wheel anti lock there are also 2
sensors on the front wheels
Almost sounds to me like an intermitant ground
problem clean all the connections to the tail
lights and check the grounds
The ABS is a seporate comp located under the pass
side kick panel check those connections also

Message: Have you ever had the voltage regulator replaced? My 03 dakota has had both lights on for 1 1/2 yrs. I had to replace the voltage regulator right after i got the truck, after i replaced it, my charging problem went away but abs & brake lights came on. Come to find out, i had to have my computer flashed. They told me that only a dealer could re flash the comp. costed me around 80 bucks, but lights went out!!

Message: The voltage regulator is not a separate replaceable unit, its circuitry is contained within the computer.
Is this rear ABS or 4-wheel ABS? They have to be bled according to the manual when servicing - you don't just bleed at the 4 wheels.
