Subject: locating tranny wiring IP: Logged
Message: My O/D switch stopped working the other day and I can only assume the switch or the wiring is bad. Of course, the chiltons/haynes manuals are crap for pictures of things that you actually need a picture of....where do I find the wiring connector for the switch under the dash? I can't turn off my O/D and I really don't care to not have that ability.
And...does anyone know what affects O/D in extreme cold weather? 10 below and I have no O/D shift even in a 25 mile drive to work. It'll shift into O/D after I get off of work in the afternoon.

Message: Truck is a 97. It shifts into OD all the time for me. I can start it up today ( 70 degrees ) and drive right to the highway ( 2 blocks away ) and it'll shift through the gears, into OD and lock up the converter.
The OD switch used to work but when it did, it was intermittently...

Message: fixed the O/D switch and made a tutorial for anyone else having the same problem. Still would like to know about the O/D problem at very cold temps and why I don't get O/D when the temp has obviously reached operating temp. Is there a temperature switch I can check?
