When I accelerate from 1 to 2 is good but from 2 to 3 the rpm will rev up 1 grand and then go. Do you have any idea what would cause this.

have you had the tranny serviced recently? if you did, was ATF+3 or ATF+4 used?
how many miles on the tranny?

you may want to start with checking the fluid level. if that's ok you better get it serviced/ fluid and filter change as soon as you can. with that many miles, if it has never had a fluid change, i would make sure NOT to have it flushed. just a fluid and filter change.

The 1-2 2-3 shift is all hydrolic in the 93
Change the fluid and filter
ATF + 3 or 4
