Message: I just bought a 1996 Dodge Dakota with no manual. The wippers just went and I have no idea which fuse to replace assuming and hoping it is the fuse and not the motor.

Message: your fuse for that is under the steering column by your feet. I forget which fuse it is, but just go buy a big variety pack of fuses and start pulling each one out till you find the one that is burnt out. Also just to let you know, your wiper linkages are all connected by cheap plastic bushings under the cowling directly behind the hood. They are cheap to buy, the brand is "help". They are boxes of all kinds of bushings for all kinds of different cars, cost maybe $5. I replaced all of mine when one went out just to be safe. You can tell if thats the problem when your wipers stop moving, but when you look at the motor and it is still moving.

Message: I had already tried the fuse way but wanted to know the exact fuse so that I didn't have to pull them all. However, when messing with the fuses I tried the wipers again and found that I could hear the motor. Gave in and called my local mechanic who discovered it was the plastic thingy that held the arm to the motor and replaced it for free! All I had to do was drive 40 miles to the dealership, pay $9 for the not so cheap plastic thingy, drive back and he replaced it. What a guy! Cute too. It rained the next morning and I was very happy. Thanks for the advice. Great to know you are all there.
