Subject: Should I IP: Logged
Message: I received a letter from my local Dodge dealer saying that they wanted my Dakota for a trade in. My 99 Dakota has only 65000 miles on it and runs good! Should I trade it in for a more economical vehicle when I only have 2 more years left to pay on it or should I keep it?

Message: Being a 99, with only 65,000 on it. Doesn't seem like you drive it very much. I don't see where you would save anything. I'd keep it, but it's your truck.

Message: I agree with daddio with his comment. if you have the money and you are ok on paying another vehicle for 3 or 4 more years. Why not!...I bought my Dakota 99 V6 on 2nd hand 3 years ago with 87,000 miles and now It has 160,000 miles and it keeps running like a new of couse with the right maintenance, and I'm still going for 200,000 miles. I was watching a truck show the other day and they mention that its not worth it to rid of your truck and thinking on get a new different vehicle you problably will end spending more, like insurance. If I was you, id' keep the truck, If you are the first owner, way better!.. 'cause you know on what conditions you keep you truck. Get a chilton book, proper tools and wherever it needs to be repair just do it your self. But you can do wherever your needs are. its your truck!..

They are hurting! Bad
Dodge, GM & Ford
They need to unload as many 08's as they can.
If it was me I'd say screw committing to more payments and keep my truck.
With the economy the way it's going you never know whats ahead for you. (as none of us do either)

Message: I get that same damn postcard in the mail every year....i am not falling for their marketing tricks until i absolutely want something different, which when i got this truck of mine, i had the idea of ill drive it until it dies! and i still have that same idea in my head. And when i means dies, i mean its so screwed up you cannot make it out anymore (hoping it will never come to that but you understand).
if you really want something new, take a bite and have a talk with them, sometimes it doesnt hurt to talk, at least as long as you know when to walk away.

Message: Thanks guys! I decided to keep my Dakota and although I'm not the original owner I kinda feel like I am because it only had 47000 miles on it when I bought it! It's been a good truck, the only problem i've had is the solenoid in the trans acting up and it got replaced under the extended warranty. Also my fiance likes it and said I should keep it.
