Message: what is the stock compression ratio for the 239 and what is recommended? i also seen you can buy pistons 60 over is there enough wall thickness to make this cut is it safe... i am doing some homework before i decide what to do with my motor?
what is the ideal combination for my engine.
i know more is usually better but what about a well-designed motor?

.030 over
some blocks will not take a .060 over there are
thin spots on the cyl walls
Take a compresion test
remove all plugs, unplug coil and remove fuel
pump relay so you don't fill it with gas when
your doing it
These motors are machined very well most will
not have even a pound of variance 15 or more
between cyls is bad
If you have a low one squirt some oil in the cyl
if it goes up its the rings if not its a gasket
or valve
