 Subject: starter v6 3.9 dakota 1987

Cant get the starter out the bolts are off there is not enough room to get it out of the bell housing tried on an angle straight every which way will not clear. Does any one know the answer the starter at one tme was put in so it should come out.

My Hanes manual says to remove the steering shaft and pull the starter up from the top side, I was able to do mine like that, and mine is a 4X4.
