The manual for my 92 CC 3.9L says that my cooling system holds 14 qts of fluid. I thought that was approximately 3.5 gallons. But the thing won't take more than 2 gallons. What's the deal? Why is the book sooo far off or am I doing something wrong?

The shop manual assumes that you have a completely dry system, meaning that the engine block as well as the radiator have been completely drained.Typically, when you do any type of in-frame engine work, only the radiator gets drained. That is the reason for the difference. Hope this helps.
