we have been having what seems to be random problems. we have tried to narrow it down to certain things with no luck. our fuel pump doesn't work (no clicks or anything ever), no voltage to the coil, and no click in the relay for the fuel pump. also it looks like the radio has stopped working. we have changed the computer, the auto shutdown relay, and the fuel pump relay. lastly we have tried to change the pickup in the distributor with no luck. any one have any ideas? we are completely lost at this point

P.S. the error code light on the dash doesn't work either now (other person is sure it was working before this problem).

year model and drivetrain will help speed the diagnosis. sounds like it could be the infamous splice #115.

Here ya go
under the hood
drivers side inner fender well

Black fuse/relay box

remove it (dont get rough with it and snap wires)
easy

remove/un'do all the tape around the wire harness

with the wires expossed you are looking for a splice of 3 or 4 wires (solder together)
i believe they might be red with a white stripe in them

the factory splice/solder gets all cruded up and sometimes even snaps

cut the splice out

re'do it if need be ad a little more wire
(cover the splice when done)

now re'tape the whole harness

box back on

and you should be good to go

this is a common problem with your year truck

best O'luck and come back and give us an update

Its about a foot back

Bigger red wire to 3 or 4 smaller wires
Fuel
Ignition

Heres how to check it
pin 3 and pin 9
1 has power all the time 1 on/off with key

Just gett a long sowing needle and back probe
the computer plug

This is a somewhat common thing on the gen 2 trucks

Remove the mechanical splice and solde them togather

When the comp does not have constant power none
of the diagnosticks will work

key on/off 3 times than on and watch check eng
light

Its a binary code

1 pause 2 flashes 12 start of diagnostics
5 flash pause 5 flash 55 end of diagnostics
and any inbetween are your trouble codes this
will not work if splice is bad

thank you guys. worked perfectly. we went into the wiring and found quiet a few that where getting corroded and we cleaned them up and so forth. then we found one with a burn hole in it where the wires where completely gone. replaced the wiring and everything worked great after that. thanks again for the help. couldn't have done it without you all.

Splice #115 wiring no corrosion (actually looks like factory fix on spliced wires sealed very well protected from corrosion) .Fuses are fine, pump wiring works fine ,pump works when wires are jumped from battery. Fuel Pump relay recepticle doesn't work,I put in NEW relay, doesn't click when key turned on like the other relays do .Any other ideas? ? PCM possibly?

I have same exact problem, 92 V6, #115 done and checked (I solder wires for a living) all relays good (checked by putting them in starter relay slot and cranking), new ECU-I had over charging, when I tried to start it to go but ECU it wouldn't start. But new ECU hasn't fixed it.
have proper voltages at ECU, still no spark or fuel.

Check cam sensor and Crank sensor. If either is not working, then no spark will happen .
