Message: Ok, so I don't have any problems operating a clutch, other than the fact that I'm used to shifting by sound. I was always taught to drive by sound incase the tak goes bad. I have a 2002 v-6 dak quad cab with the 3.9. The damb thing is so quiet, I cant here the engin over the tires. Need a little help here!? I'm trying to find an egaust that will give me more noise without loosing mpg, and could anyone tell me the normal rpm ranges when going throught the gears.

Message: i guess they did away with the infamous "shift light" on your '02. my '00 has one and i just ignore it or shift before it comes on. shift between 1500 and 2000 rpm unless you have to rev more than that and you'll be alright.
you could try a flowmaster or dynomax 17748(i think) is a direct replacement for the factory muff.
i wish my engine was that quiet.

Message: I put a Thrush Turbo style muffler on mine and its not real loud but I think it sounds good. I went from 2 1/4 inch pipe from the cat, to 2 1/2 to the muffler, and a 2 1/2 tail pipe I had a muffler shop put it on, took about 12-15 minutes.
I didn't lose any MPG's, and I like the way it sounds, but I can't say I gained any MPG's either as I pulled the engine just a couple of days after I bought it to rebuild the engine.
I have just over 17,000 miles on it and when I have a good 02 sensor I get around 18 MPG in town and just over 20 on the highway, I did make a few changes though, plus I'm using the Halo spark plugs, the best investment I made as far as plugs go, faster starts, smoother running, and more power.
Good Luck

Message: If you want just a little more "shifting" noise, I got a gibson cat back system on my truck that is supposedly "bolt on", but I got an exhaust shop to weld it on. About $400.00 installed, and not too redneck loud either.
