 Subject: Fuel pump changed no lights

Following the advice on another post, I narrowed down my running problems to my fuel pump. Thanks Guys.
Swapped in a Delphi FG0206 today at the mechanics.
Engine now starts and runs fine but the electrical is hooped.
The tach jumps all over the place.
The headlights don't work and the antilock dash light comes on when I pull the light lever.
Every time you touch the brakes the antilock dash light comes on.
After a sec, there is a 'pop' in the back somewhere and the anti light goes out.
This is driving us nuts as everything was working fine before the swap.
Could the Delphi pump be crashing all these electronics?????
For the cost of labour, I want to rule something out before dropping the tank and plugging in the old (Carter) fuel pump.
HELP!!!!!
