Subject: Power Steering Problem IP: Logged
Message: I was turning around for a train at full lock when my power steering gave out.......... Forearmed her home a good mile and checked the fluid and hoses.... All appears to be good... Whats the deal? Im not much on steering when it comes to newer vehicles and all the haynes covers is removal of the pump and bleeding......No diagnostics what so ever. Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks

Message: The power stearing is the most forgotten fluid
of them all
No one ever thinks about changing it and there are
check valves that will stick
engine off jack front end up and turn all the way
in both directions a few times let it down and
see if it works
This usualy will force the check valves to open
than change the fluid
What I do is take the return hose off put it into
a gal plastic milk jug have someone turn wheel
very slowly from side to side while slowly adding
fluid untill it comes out clean
or get a suction gun suck it out and refill about
6 times do it run it and do it again
