Subject: Popping noise while turning left

I have this strange noise while turning left and it does not occur all the time. It's a one time popping noise, almost clunking. Sometimes louder than other times. I had it in the shop and suggested that it may be the upper ball joints as I got a recall on it awhile ago. They tested and looked at it and said it wasn't that and in fact it was a bumper stop on the wheel that was rubbing and was worn out. They greased it up and said that the noise is gone. Well, it's not. However, I found that one of the bolts that connect the wheel assembly on the upper part near where the shocks are bolted to the frame was loose. The steering is a lot tighter now and feels more solid but it still makes this noise only not as bad. I think that this had been loose for a very long time as the steering has never felt this tight before and always sort of felt loose and the slightest turn of the wheel would make you sway back and forth. The noise is still only on random occasions, not all the time. Could this be bad bushings on that bolt and or am I right in thinking that this still could be the ball joints.

had the same problem and the dealer said the same thing, ball
joints and all that crap and wanted like 800$, took it to brake-
masters and they lifted it and rocked the tire and immediately said
it was the bearings the left side was super bad they put a new one
in and never made the noise again (now 10 months rattle free) , it
happens when you turn at low-medium speeds using the brakes
and presses out on the tire on the bad bearing causing it to vibrate
the wheel and make a rattling noise. so have some one check out
the bearings if you dont i forget how much it cost, somthing more
than 100 and less than 200
