not to mention the only metals worth anything right now are aluminum and copper, your truck is mostly steel and iron. however, in the papers where i live they are advertising about 400$ for scrap cars.

yeah, with all the new construction around here you need to hire a guard so they dont steal the plumbing, wiring and a/c units out of the new houses being built.
i don't know about you guys but my truck is definitely worth more than $1.50 per lb.

Steel is up to $300 per ton at the recycler's near me (15 cents a pound). That's for clean steel, not glass, rubber etc; but that's why the price for scrap cars has been going up. Almost starting to look good for the old Ford cargo van I have...

the most expensive thing you have when it comes to scrap metal is the catalytic converter because it has platinum inside it. you could strip all the wiring and burn it to leave pure copper behind. i'd say all in all you could maybe get 100$ for wiring and a converter.
long story short, sell the damn truck moron.

Just trying to figure out what my truck will be worth if I wait 'till gas goes up to $7 a gallon in a few years. What do you have when you have a whole lot of sellers and only a few buyers? Scrap metal.
Best mpg enhancer yet: synthetic fluids.
