Subject: cv axles IP: Logged
Message: my front passenger side axle seal has been leaking for a while now, and today i decided to replace it. got the whole passenger side ripped apart and then noticed my cv axles has about 3/4 of an inch of play in it, so i would say its shot. Tried figuring out how to pull the axles from the front diff but could not figure it out. so i put it all back together and figured i would replace the seal once i replace the axle. so my question is, does anyone know how the cv axle comes out of the front diff? do i need to take the front plate off the diff? is there a C clamp inside the diff holding the cv axle in place or what? never had one ripped apart before, and the price of labour now a days is ridiculous but i might have to take it to a mechanic. I have a manual for it but it doesnt say how the axle is held in there. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Message: Don't know what your talking about here
The inner side of the cv is bolted to a flange
remove bolts and the axle comes right off
Than in the center of the flange there is a nut
you remove than pull flange and replace seal
