my front passenger side axle seal has been leaking for a while now, and today i decided to replace it. got the whole passenger side ripped apart and then noticed my cv axles has about 3/4 of an inch of play in it, so i would say its shot. Tried figuring out how to pull the axles from the front diff but could not figure it out. so i put it all back together and figured i would replace the seal once i replace the axle. so my question is, does anyone know how the cv axle comes out of the front diff? do i need to take the front plate off the diff? is there a C clamp inside the diff holding the cv axle in place or what? never had one ripped apart before, and the price of labour now a days is ridiculous but i might have to take it to a mechanic. I have a manual for it but it doesnt say how the axle is held in there. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Don't know what your talking about here

The inner side of the cv is bolted to a flange
remove bolts and the axle comes right off

Than in the center of the flange there is a nut
you remove than pull flange and replace seal
