Message: It is possible to remove the linkage plate and shaft assembly from your old TB. You have to remove the 4 screws holding in the butterfly plates and also remove the throttle position sensor. The shaft assembly will not come out easily but you can pull it out.
That being said, the butterfly plate screws are fragile and they will break and you have to drill them out. 3 out of the 4 on mine snapped soon as I turned them. Then you have to go through this same procedure in reverse to try to get the old shaft assembly installed on the V8 TB. It is a royal pain and I know from experience. I would say it is much easier and more reliable just to get the correct TB cable from the dealer or from a donor truck at a junk yard. I tried it the other way on mine and wound up having to get another V8 TB and the cable from the donor truck. I have had no problems at all with it since, but I had a lot of trouble trying to make it work the other way.

Message: The brackets are the same V8 V6 the cable hookup
is on the throttle shaft not the bracket
Ball stud
disc type
and the cam with the bycycle type cable end
Depending on year which you have
The cable should not take longer than a 1/2 hour
to change they just pop in and out remove from
gas pedal and thats it

Message: my v8 TB switch is performing very well. I love the improvement in
power delivery. I used the v8 cable, but found that I should have
also taken the speed control cable (cruise control) from the v8. the
v6 one seems to short.
