 Subject: Beeps - Startes then Stalls

98 Dodge Dakota with OEM security... Has been off and in the garage for about a year without being started.
Replaced GAS, recharged battery and such...
When I turn the key on get 6 beeps pause then 4 beeps. The odometer keeps blinking. Other then odometer get no movement from any of the other guages (FUEL, Oil pressure, voltmetet...)
Truck will start & run for 1-2 seconds before shutting off... When car cuts off the red SECUTIY light is on and stays on till cycle power with key.
Connected a code reader & tried key on/off method... No codes sent... Not even the 55.
Any idea what the beep codes meen & what can I do to get/keep it running???

It almost sounds like you lost your vin code
flash in the computer for some reason
That is exactly what these trucks will do if you
swap a computer from another truck 97 and up and
do not have the vin number and mileage flashed in
they will start run and shut down
call a few dealers and you should be able to find
one who will flash the vin free otherwise most
try to charge you $50 to $75 to do it
Thats what it seams like was the batt disconected
for a long period of time
