Subject: V8 throttle body IP: Logged
Message: I am looking at a throttle body on ebay. It is for a 2003 5.9 dakota. I was wondering if the cfm would be to much for a v6 and do you think the cable attachment would be the same as an 2002 3.9?

Message: The v8 tb will fit. The cable may or may not be the same. Replacement cable is affordable. The sensors are interchangable, use yours from the V6 TB cause you know they work. I'm running a v8 tb nice gains, little or no loss at bottom end. You'll notice the increase in power in the mid/upper rpms.
V8 Tb= good
Fastman TB= better
F&B TB= Best

Message: rockchuk, a 5.2 or 5.9 TB will bolkt right up to your existing intake manifold. the poster mess is just another of the multiple personalities of the site spoofer.
with any luck you cable may fit also with no modifications. you could use any yr TB from '96 - '04.

Message: mess is some what correct. You need to match bore the intake if you want to get the maximum flow from a v8 tb. For most people it won't matter. Just bolt it on, get the right cable and go.
Beware of the earlier egr type. They will work just fine with a simple modification but throw a code without it. Even though they throw a code it will work if you don't mind the light.

Message: 92 to 95 egr type must use 92 to 95 V8 body
96 and up non egr type must use 96 up V8 body
yes they bolt right on gains from 1600rpm up average 15 to 18hp 20 to 25 torque qt the wheels
Do not mod in any way shape or form bolt on as is
use your V6 sensors because you know they work
right
The reason there are no off idle low end gains is
because the bores in the V6 intake are 48mm the
throttle plates in the V8 body are 50mm this
causes a little turbulance off idle low end
Be sure your o2 sensors are good if over 60,000
replace with a NGK NTK from ngk.com has the best
price no bosch or universal o2 sensors on
a stock motor a lazy o2 will not show up because
they run so close to the stock comp tables
once
you increase the flow and are farther away from
stock tables this sensor must be working properly
to read the increased flow and add more fuel
Also read post stupid but must know about the
crank sensor and IAT mod and run 1 colder NGK
Vpower FR5 plug
now you will have some very nice very noticeable
gains
for those of you who need to know the stock V6
bodies 40 to 44mm torque step flow from 375 to
425 cfm the stock V6 flows from 600 to 635 cfm
do not mod the V8 body use as is
may need cable swap the trans cable and cruse
and the brakets are all the same except for the
thottle cable itself may be diff
Have Fun it is a nice mod
