 Subject: superchips tuners..

i just got a superchips tuner for my 98' 3.9 today and want to know anyones oppinion on them. my main question is is it bad to run 89 on the performance setting? does anyone do this? or should i stick to the 87 setting? one more thing about my truck, it seems like when i tuned it i started it up and it sounded bitchin, but after it ideled for a few minuted it sounded normal again, like it changed itself to perform normal. this happened when i changed the plugs also. any input on why it does this?

if you run 89 with the performance setting and it pings just load the towing program. it's that simple.

the towing and performance mode both say to use premium fuel.

if you turn down the radio and the a/c fan, yeah you'll hear it. it sounds kinda like marbles rattling around in a tin can.
if the performance program calls for you to use at least 91 octane, and you won't buy it then why even install the perf program? without 91 or 93 octane you'll never realize the full potential of the programming.

well, i dont know where you live, but we dont even have 93 as an option. and 91 costs $4.75 a gallon. so 89 is prety much all my budget allows right now.

OUCH! 93 here is 4.40 91 is 4.25 89 is 4.05 or 87 @ 3.89 some with the SCT say they get better mileage on the tow setting running 87.
last time i was in Florida they had 5 dif. octanes at the pumps from 85 to 93.

hey scratch what i said about the price of 91. its not $4.75 i lied, it just went up to $4.81 today.
