I was trying to take out the starter and i undid the wrong bolts(couldnt see)and i ended up taking apart the starter, so now the cap that goes over hte internals of the starter wont go back on because in the tip of the cap, 4 metal parts are on springs to keep contact with the internals, well when it came off, the springs pushed and now i dont know how to push them back in to put the cap back on

how the heck can i do this? im stranded with my truck on jack stands right now and i need urgent help, i cant go anywhere until this is fixed

On some starters, there is a ring piece that looks like it has 4 tangs on it, when the starter is built it is left on and is out of the way of most moving parts, if yours is still in there you can use it. If not, what you can do is, put the brushes, the black things on the end of the the wire push it from the inside against the spring when you get it back in place use something to hold it in place, a small piece of hard plastic will work, do all 4 the same way, then when you are ready to put the end piece back on try to get it started on the "Armature" then pull the plastic pieces and complete the assembly. It can be a little time consuming, but it can be done.
Good Luck
