Message: Hello,
I have a 99 V6 dakota and just noticed I had a vacuum hose missing. The problem is I can't find the other end of the vacuum line. I'm not positive but think the port may just have had a plug on it but am not sure. Can someone with a V6 please pop their hood and see where this vacuum line goes. I have a pic showing the port but do not know how to post a picture in the forums.
Here is a brief discription of the location: On the air/fuel intake of the motor, to the right side the throttle cable connects to the bracket on the air/fuel intake. Right below this bracket is a black fuel line that feeds the injectors for the 3 cylinders on that side. Below this fuel line is two vacuum ports. The upper one goes to the PCV valve on the valve cover and the other one below it is the one I found with nothing connected to it? It is hard to see because it is right below the vacuum port that goes to the valve cover. Can someone tell me where this port leads to?
thanks

Message: Ok ive been sitting here for about a hour now and this is the closet thing i have found to my problem.. I bought a 2000 v6 4x4 dakota with the check engine light on. p0505 or idle sensor malfunction. Visual inspection did not reveal any vacum leaks. After removing and cleaning the throttle bottle and replacing the IAC, plus a trip to ND, I came down with what seemed to be a obvious skip at a cold idle.. so i pulled the intake and replaced the gaskets and seals.. Not my first rodeo by any means so the job was done correctely. After about 5 attempts to start the vehicle it finally came on, ran for about 2 minutes, then the engine light came back on. no more skip at cold idle but its the same code.. I have ran out of things to check.. I wanna say its a vacum leak, but i just dont see any...
