do i have a coolant temp sensor on this truck? there is a little sensor that looks like a miniature IAC sensor that is right up near my thermostat but i always thought that was the engine temp sensor. If this sensor near the thermostat is the coolant temp sensor than where is the engine temp sensor (one for the guage)?

I believe the one closest to the thermostat is the gauge sender, the other is the ECU sender unit.

I just looked under the hood. There are no sensors anywhere on the ac compressor side, unless it is hidden under the compressor in which case is gonna be a pain in the a$$!! the other sensor i said that was up near the thermostat is the only one and it has two wires coming off of it. It also looks like the sensor that comes up when i do a search for coolant temp sensor on advance auto parts. Would you recommend getting this sensor from mopar or would parts store brand do the job. I know some sensors are more important than others thus their reliability being more important. thanks

Just lift the compressor out of the way a bit, don't disconnect anything but the belt and maybe a wire or two but I doubt it's under there. If you only have one, you only have one, replace it.

No it's not the IAT sensor, that's for air temp.
