Subject: dakota computer interchange- inspection IP: Logged
Message: i have a 97 v6 dakota with a 2000 quad cab running gear- wiring- and computer. do u think ny state inspection will have a problem when they plug into a 97 but it reads as a 2000? or am i worrying about nothing! thnx

Message: Why donīt you go to a telephone box, call them and ask. That way you would get information first hand and no hearsay. Then you could share your wisdom with us lazy guys.

Message: Don't know for sure about NY, but usually going with newer specs/controls is okay - while going with older can be a problem if it's expected to meet emissions.
Out of curiousity, does the '00 PCM interface alright with your '97 dash ?

Message: i'm just going to take it and see... i used the dash from the 'oo. the cluster did some weird things when i tried the '97
