Message: chris, then engines are the same, the difference is the flywheel/flexplate. The manual uses a flywheel, and the auto uses a flex plate. Are you wanting to put the engine in your truck with the manual transmission? Or use the auto in your truck? It can be done just need to use the parts for the transmission you plan on using. Let us know what you want to do, and I'll try to explain what you need to do.
Good Luck

Message: are both trucks the same year? you'll need the pcm to match the engine/tranny combo in your truck. so if you're transferring the manul trans to the auto truck, swap the pcm too. of course you'll need the clutch and brake pedals, clutch hydraulic system and a couple fo other things. steering column too.

Message: chris, all you will need to do is remove the engine from your donner truck, remove the flexplate, use the flywheel from your 93 and use the rest from your 93 and it should work ok, I wouldn't be worried about using the 94 computer, I think they are close enough to work correctly.
Just be sure you use the crank position sensor from your 93 but I think its mounted on the bellhousing so you wouldn't need to remove it anyway.
I Hope this helps,
Good Luck

Message: Dakota49 is correct, you will need to change the harmonic balancer from the 93 and put it on the 94 engine. It will be balanced to work with a flex plate and torque converter. You will experience a vibration if you don't. Good luck in the change over.

Message: Chris, I think some of the people here must have misunderstood what you are trying to do, if I read it correctly, you want to take the engine out of a truck with an auto and put it in your truck with the manual, so again the only thing I see that would need to be changed to make everything work is the flywheel from the manual to the engine that has the auto.(auto's use a flexplate) Of course you will also need to use the clutch assimbly with the manual trans as well.I don't think it is going to be nearly as hard as it sounds I have done things like this in the past and if you have the tools it can be done in a weekend, if you don't have the tools that make life a little easier, like air tools, it can still be done in a weekend but you will have to work pretty fast. Or you could take a couple of weekends if you don't need the truck right away.
Good Luck, if you have any more questions please feel free to ask, I try to check out this site at least once a day.

Message: You will also need to install a
pilot bushing in the end of the
crankshaft, the automatic
doesn't use one the manual
transmission does. Good luck

a 1500 ram pickup 99 model putting it in a 99
model Dakota engine code w the Dakota has an
automatic transmission the 1500 ram had a

remove pilot bearing because I'm using the
automatic transmission that is in the Dakota
transmission gets up to a quarter inch and the
torque converter stops spinning and the
transmission will not get any closer than a
