I have a 1994 Dodge Dakota, and it won't start, I finally broke down and bought a diagnotic tool and it says 42 the manual says its the auto cutoff switch and to reset it. But I can't find it, and its not in the manual. I don't want to tear my truck apart looking for it.
Thanks.

Underneath your relay box on drivers fender you have a wire break. This is a common problem with Dodge Dakota's. If you look at your wire loom below the the relay box you should see an opening in the loom. You'll probably see some green copper corrosion.

The broken wires will be red with white stripes. It's a joiner circuit and is a factory defect.

I had to repair mine 2 weeks ago.

Thanks, You rule dude! It was the wire, I had to remove the battery to see it. You saved me major bucks.
Truck is running like a champ again.
