I was installing my 1.7 harland sharps last night. I dropped one in the sand and now I have to buy a new one. I have to drive the truck so I left one set of the stock rockers on the truck. I don't think the different rocker combination will harm anything but I wanted to ask first. Do you think everything will be alright?

To make matters even worse... the truck wont start anymore. As Larry said earlier, "start the engine and let it run for 1min. Then turn the engine off and let it sit for 10mins. Do this three times and its ready to go". Well the engine started just fine the first two times. When I tried to start it the third time all the engine did was make a clicking noise(starter). I charged up the battery and still nothing. Then replaced the starter with a new one. Still Nothing!!! Tomorrow I am going remove the Superchips program and then try to turn the engine by hand. I figure this will tell me if something is stuck. Otherwise I have no clue...any ideas?

Guess I'm confused; you dropped a rocker in the sand and have to buy a new one?

I'm thinking leaving a set of the stock ones on with an otherwise full set of new ones is a bad thing.

Yes I had to buy a new one because the rocker can not be easily taken apart and I am not going to let one or two pieces of sand stay in the rocker when its at 3,000rpm.

Since the rockers are only letting the air in and out of the engine I think everything will be ok. I could be wrong and if I am please let me know.

Is it lost in the sand? Clean it up and install it. no need to replace it. If you can't get it apart, at least blow some air on it or something.

I tried cleaning it with brake cleaner. Some sand has gotten into the bearings so I cant get it out! It was only $22 for a new rocker. Id rather pay $22 bucks and feel the engine is safe rather then have one or two pieces of sand grind down the internals of the rocker and screw up the engine 40,000 miles later. I tried taking apart the the rocker but everything is pressed in so I cant get it apart. Hopefully the rocker will be arrive in a week. Thanks for trying to help me out man.

Well, if it was me. I wouldn't run the truck til you had em all in there. I wouldn't even try to crank it. Chalk it up as a lesson learned. Like me learn em the hard way.
